eyes welcome to week 6 day 5 for reading today we're going to remember an action verb is something you can do let's practice if you smile sing jump clap those are all things that you can do a verb we're going to read the story called or the poem called Little Monkeys little monkey spit little monkeys jump little monkeys climb little monkeys eat little monkeys hang little monkeys run if you noticed in our poem there are words that are in both are words that are the darker colored words in the poem those are action words are verbs let's repeat the bold words sit jump hang run you're going to copy those words on the line below I underline the word action word in blue so cocky your bold the lines and then on the right hand side you're going to Mark yes or no if you can do the verbs to for example the first verb is sit can you sit yes or no the second verb is Jump can you jump yes or no quite can you climb yes or no can you eat yes or no hey can you hang yes or no in the last one run can you run yes or no on the PS2 you're going to create your own poem using verbs about kittens the same idea you're going to steal the line in with Kate the little kittens blank what is an action word a verb that kittens can do I'm going to put up a poster that shows some verbs you might want to push pause on your screen to get some ideas of things chitin can do once you still in your bird add extra details for example the little little kittens play with your little kittens walk through the park add some extra details after you verbs to make your phone more interesting and then when you're done read your poem to a family member at home and draw a picture to go with your poem
